The new Leisure complex was designed and constructed shortly after Peter de Savary took control. The hotel now forms part of the Carnegie Club with links to Skibo Castle in Scotland and London.
The photographs here show the new Leisure pool which involved demolition of an existing Victorian brick arched basement with pool excavation being carefully designed to avoid disruption to the foundations of existing buildings.
The superstructure comprises exposed lightweight steel trusses with exposed timber purlins, rafters and boarding to create a traditional feel.
